Edit: See further post below for a brief How To
Hi
Just got a Nanokontrol2 for Christmas and am looking to use it with Mixbus and Ardour.
I see there is some stuff when I Google, but if anyone has any great tips I would love to hear them please.

https://github.com/Pierousseau/reaper_generic_control
A reaper user was in the same boat, and made a plugin
for nanokontrol 2
Between the win reaper version in wine, and the linux version,
you might get lucky.
Cheers

Thanks, the Mixbus videos are promising too. If I succeed I will post the result.glowrak guy wrote:https://github.com/Pierousseau/reaper_generic_control

EDIT 2: It's alive! Got it working in Mixbus and Ardour with Alsa. Next, hopefully, Jack. I will post a how to once Christmas is over and I can do it properly.

Re: Korg Nanokontrol2 Ardour/ Mixbus How To
How To:
This method uses Alsa and works with Ardour and Mixbus. To alter assignments a three button mouse is required.
Please make sure the Nanokontrol2 is started before starting Ardour.
To assign any control, hold down CTRL and right click on the mixer control (e.g. a fader) with the middle mouse button. When prompted move the control on the Nanokontrol, it will be detected and control that part of the mixer.
There are two preset configurations.
Go to ==> Edit ==> Preferences ==> Control Surfaces
Choose generic midi and click enable.
Click ‘Show Protocol Settings’
Use the midi bindings option to choose 1 of two options:
Korgnanocontrol2 (controls first eight faders)
Korgnanocontrol2 Master (controls first seven faders and master fader)
If the controls are jerky you can try upping the smoothing value.
The Nanocontrol2 also works with LMMS and its transport controls can be used to control Hydrogen.
