Maudio firewire solo and compatibility gnu linux

Post by gennargiu »

Hello guys after several years I had tried to see if the sound card maudio firewire only works in gnu linux environment with negative results, for some days I'm seeing that the card is detected by ffado drivers and works properly in debian stretch 9 with the repositories of kxstudio, so good news regarding the owners of this sound card to make it functional in gnu linux

my enthusiasm for the recognition of the board in gnu linux did not last long, in the sense that apart from the virtual instruments in gnu linux the card does not detect the condenser mic of the samson c01 with the phantom power activated, and also putting in recording audio a track on ardor is not recorded ..... at the time I unplugged the firwire maudio and I connected a usb sound card behringer uca 222. :( it's work perfect on gnu linux :D

can not understand why listening to the sound card maude firewire only works well with clementine or web, youtube, while in the works only the virtual instruments in the recording work, but it does not work neither the recording of audio tracks nor the recording of the microphone to capacitor. All settings are set correctly

Finally after several ups and downs I managed to make the audio maude firewire sound only by recording both audio track and track with condenser microphone. As per photos published almost in Ardor in audio settings and midi should be set jack / ffado and not alsa firewire. Once you have done this you must open qjack and make virtual links manually otherwise you will not hear anything in ardor :D

Hi Gennaro, unfortunately my system does not recognize it. If you can, can you make a guide on how to install the m-audio firewire solo on debian stretch?

Code: Select all

Kernel : Linux 4.9.0-7-amd64 (x86_64)
Compiled : #1 SMP Debian 4.9.110-1 (2018-07-05)
Distribution : Debian GNU/Linux 9.5
FireWire (IEEE 1394) : LSI Corporation FW322/323 [TrueFire] 1394a Controller
Ciao

hello Frankie the configuration is not difficult to perform, at the moment my maudio firewire card is recognized by the following operating systems and distributions, debian stretch 9.5 - ubuntu 18.04.1 lts, avlinux 64 bit. My advice is to download the kxstudio repositories and then open the cadence program go into the driver section, set the firewire protocol, then reboot, launch ffado and see if the card is recognized and then start the audio jack server from cadence, another thing to remember to set the bridge pulseaudio / jack otherwise if you want to listen to the content via the web you do not hear anything. Also make sure you have added your name to the audio group

PS : my firewire audio card is connect at desktop computer hp elite 8200. It have internal a pci/firewire compatible with chipset texas instrument
