Rackmount interface with best Linux support in 2018?
Preferably still in production and the cheaper the better

I'm getting quite good results from the M-audio M-track 8.
That's 8in + 8out over USB
Latency isn't as good as the old PCI 2496 but it's good enough - and a lot more analog IO of course.
