Scarlett 18i8 no output

Hi everyone,

I got my Scarlett 18i8 hooked up, jackd is running fine, I receive audio input within my DAW and see my DAW producing output just like it should, but there is just no sound coming from the interface. I checked the jackd connections and the outputs are correctly hooked up.

I thought this should not be a big deal, I searched the interwebs and soon got the impression that the internal mixer of the Scarlett might get initialized with stupid values so I installed qasmixer but again, no success: everything looks fine. I don't know what else could go wrong and usually at this point I would assume that it's a hardware problem but the interface runs just fine on Windows and OSX.

Any ideas?
