Been a lurker here for years. I have a toshiba laptop with ubuntu studio 16.04 just set up. I have been using studio for years now, but I generally just plugged my guitar right in to the soundcard to record ideas, etc. which is usually pretty easy to get started and use.
I just grabbed a 2i2 and it powers on and rackarrack recognizes the input and shows an output in the meters - but I hear nothing from speakers or headphones. The tuner works, and I silently intonated my guitar with lingot. My 1/4 headphones are not here yet so I am not plugging in to the 2i2 to monitor, yet.
Based on things I have searched to try and find an answer, I will include arecord -l && aplay -l

Using alsamixer in terminal doesn't really show much, and the gui only shows a master and capture level. Ive tried all the suggestions I have seen, so I am asking for any insight. I really appreciate any suggestions, if there is any info/terminal output or screenshots that would help, please let me know and I will get to it asap.
