suggestions for an audio interface.

I'd like to ask for suggestions for an interface to use with kxstudio.
My thought is to use the pre's from the interface, send it to my mixer with ADAT, and from the mixer back to the interface and out to my monitors.

I don't a lot of in/outs, since I'm not likely recording more than 2-4 instruments at a time, but the ADAT need to work well. (I would like to use my mixer for the master wordclock, since it can be a bit unstable otherwise)

I've been looking hard at the RME UCX, but need some time to get the money, so I've been thinking about getting a cheaper alternative to use for a while first.
I've looked a bit at the behringer fca1616, but I don't trust the wordclock stuff on that one.
I've also looked at the focusrite 18i20, but it only has wordclock OUT, as far as I can tell.

Any suggestions?
