Medeli DD305?

Post by Luc »

I am considering buying a Medeli DD305 portable drum set and would like to know about other people's experience with it. More specifically, does it work well with Linux and Hydrogen over MIDI, because that's how I intend to use it. I googled a lot for it and can't find the information. One, only one search hit points to the Hydrogen forum, but it seems the thread is not there anymore.

I'd bet its class compliant so it will probably work fine. It might not be mapped right for whatever hydrogen drumkit you are using. You can use mididings or maybe a midi filter to work around that.

Well, I saw someone complain (in Spanish) that the sample sound configuration changes randomly mid-session:

And someone in this ALSA thread describes it as "Another USB MIDI device that cannot handle more than four bytes per packet" (whatever that means):

http://sourceforge.net/p/alsa/mailman/message/29402105/

So I thought I had better go around and inquire some people.
