DiscoDSP Highlife sampler

Post by AlbertoZ »

DiscoDSP released the (old) HighLife sampler as a "free for non commercial use" to celebrate 20 years in the market.

Tried it, installs and runs fine.
As I don't use samplers very much, I'd like to hear what you think about it.
My only complain up to now is the quite small UI (I didn't find a way to rescale it).

Highlife Sampler is what eventually evolved into Bliss Sampler. It's old but does what it's supposed to do. It can serve as a taste of what you can expect from Bliss Sampler, but with better features. Disco DSP plugins support scaling for Hi-res monitors--Highlife predates this feature. IIRC, it's only 32 bit, while Bliss is 64bit. I prefer samplers to just about any other tool, and Highlife was my go-to sampler 20 years ago. Now, Bliss Sampler, Tal Sampler and Linux Sampler are the three I use now. :)
