How are experiences with Debian for those who use it regularly? Debian is officially not supported. Is there any support in case of problems?

I've had great experience with it so far, inder Debian 10... zero crashes and rarely an xrun, if ever. Ubuntu is based on Debian, so that helps. I can't answer your question about support though.

Bitwig is certainly a great creative tool. I only create using Bitwig. As a mixer though, Bitwig is not so great at all. So I export tracks from Bitwig and import them into Mixbus32C for mixing and mastering. I stick to Bitwig 2.4.3 though as I've read on the KVR u-he Linux support forum that some people are having problems with 3.x. Another thing: Bitwig will not offer any support for running Windows plugins. As far as I can tell Alex is doing any unofficial testing and he's using his own very old, Windows bridge. One more reason for me to stick to 2.4.3 since everything works well currently. If it works ...

Cheers.

Thanks all. Currently testing (again) and likely buy it.
There's an issue with the new version that the interface is not found. I didn't test it here yet as I have 3.1.3 here.

BTW: Bitwig does not have to be installed. Just exectue the binary in the Bitwig/opt/bitwig-studio/ folder.

The U-he plugins seem to work. Sometimes it needs more than one click to close the plugin window, that's was also mentioned by someone @ kvr.

When using U-he plugins (maybe even without when I would test longer?) I'm getting xruns from time to time. This does not happen with Reaper or Renoise. Sometimes I'm getting ~5 xruns in a row. Made a thread last year here: https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopi ... 6#p7286366

This was with another installation. Anyone else is observing this?

There are some other threads with similar issues:
https://answers.bitwig.com/questions/15 ... age-spikes
https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=511856
https://answers.bitwig.com/questions/20 ... inux-xruns

and more if you google.

... and bought 8) I'm totally impressed meanwhile! It took several trials, but now I couldn't resist.
