IK's new Hammond suite working fine, Mint 18 wine-staging, Reaper
demo runs full for 10 days:
https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/hammondb3x/
No problem installing, worked right away in windows reaper,
wine-staging 4.16, Mint 18, should be fine with linvst, as the other IK products
usually are. This includes a Leslie and stomp section, advanced tweaking area,
some fine presets, and would be a boon to any effects rack doing covers, or new material
where a full-on B-3 is desired.
$150 intro-price until November

Does it work in the Linux version of Reaper too? Does it work in Carla or other (Linux native) DAWs? How does it install? Does it use a Windows installer of do you get a .dll file to put in your VST directory of choice? I don't want to waste my 10 day trial period only to determine technical installation details. Sorry for my "interrogation" technique.glowrak guy wrote:demo runs full for 10 days:

It installs via standard .exe installer, provides vst2 and vst3 .dlls, a standalone executable,
and AAX if desired. After a test, the Hammond standalone works,
the vst3i works in windows reaper with wine-staging,
and I was able to run both at the same time. In linux reaper, the scan for vsti showed
no results, but I have an older LinVst that I need to update.
A pleasant bonus was that Native Instruments Massive X demo is working
in linux reaper, including the categorized preset browser.
The Lursen Mastering Console standalone version is working, while the plugin version
uses a huge amount of cpu, likely some multi-core setting in Reaper needs tweaking,
or maybe a Lursen setting. The gui seems fully functional.
Cheers

Good news, after updating to wine-staging 4.17, the vst2 Hammond
showed up after a reaper clear-cache rescan. I currently have the vst2, vst3,
and standalone running simultaneously in windows reaper in wine,
each with different presets, and gui's happy, and as an aside,
in another desktop window, the linux reaper is running Massive X demo,
a nice tribute to the versatility of linux, reaper, wine/wineasio, LinVst, and the jackd
sound system .
