Drumgizmo VST and Tracktion Waveform.

Hi,

Does anybody use subj link successfully? For me drumgizmo hangs WF gui after adding plugin to track (if not immediately - after trying to start play, or when switching audio settings).

Brief looking at strace -f points on hanged main thread due futex ETIMEDOUT in plugin thread.
Confirmed on openSUSE TW, Ubuntu 18.04, 16.04.

I have added your issue to our roadmap.
We'll let you know when we start working on it - hopefully it should be relatively soon(tm) :-)

To help with the process can you tell us a bit about what "subj link" is? I have not been able to find anything about it.

Sorry for my English. I tried to say: "the couple of software that mentioned in subject".

If I can help with any info/logs - i'll do.

Ahh, that makes a lot more sense :-)

Does the UI work in other hosts? Ardour or Reaper for example?
And does the UI show up on other native linux plugins?

At least nothing hangs when it added to hosts. I'll test more in Bitwig 8-track and Reaper a bit lately.

No problems in Reaper and Bitwig.

Does other linux-VST UIs work in Tracktion? It could be a bug in Tracktion...

Other VSTs works, but not all of course, as everywhere.
I think it is a bug in Tracktion too, but would you take a quick look please?)

Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this bug with Tracktion 5. Which version of Tracktion did you experience this bug in?

sorry, passed your post

I tested it with Tracktion 7, and Waveform 8,9,10

It hangs in 100%, not immediately, but after couple clicks on workspace GUI freezes

Just checked with T5 and T6
T5 wasn't able to scan drumgizmo_vst.so, just hangs. T6 has freezing GUI as the T7, W8/9/10.

Hi! I'm here to help.

I recommend to forget the dumgizmo vst in Waveform/Tracktion... - use the lv2 instead!

Let's suppose that you have:

- Waveform 9
- Carla vst (FalkTX is The Most Powerful Mind)
- Drumgizmo lv2 plugin
- DRS kit
- download and open the file below

Load the DRSKit_full.xml and Midimap_fill.xml in drumgizmo.

It gives you an alternative way for patching.

Yeah, I can do it with the Carla. I prefer lite lv2vst, but it doesn't run drumgizmo yet.
Anyway, thanks for suggestion.

BTW, I've even checked windows versions of WF and Drumgizmo and hang is present too.

I've just installed the latest version of Drumgizmo and I have the latest version of Waveform. In my case, Waveform crashes as soon as I drag the plugin onto a track from the sidebar.

Perhaps someone else could post this to the Tracktion Waveform forum, as I'm not familiar with Drumgizmo?
