SFZ syntax highlighting file for KATE

Post by Largos »

If you don't know what that it is, it makes the sfz come up in various colours (dependant on your colour scheme) for easier editing.

I have made one for KATE (text editor) available here with install instructions: https://www.pling.com/p/1840691/

Once installed, it will automatically work when you open a sfz file or save a new file as sfz.

I took the opcodes from the sfzformat.com website but omitted the cakewalk ones, as they were marked as deprecated. I am wanting to learn SFZ but figured it would be nicer with syntax highlighting, so learnt to do that first.

Here's what it looks like with the ayu dark theme

I recently got some SFZ pianos (mentioned nearby) and wanted to change some settings, so I installed Kate and and your SFZ.xml,
and it makes a huge difference with your parameter highlighting, rather than seeing a wall of plain text!

A great idea, and well implemented. Thanks for sharing!
