I think Windows Sforzando should work ok with wine.

Re: Metal-GTX
Yes - I have been looking for a free virtual metal guitar for ages, and this one would be perfect. If only I would be able to get it working on Linux....

Re: Metal-GTX
They are sfz, you could try if they work, maybe bit of modification (sfz file is text)

Re: Metal-GTX
Tried again and installed Sforzando with the Wine Installer. After that I have copied the Sforzando VST (or rather the complete Plogue map) to my special VST folder. Sforzando now opens in Carla, but everything is not yet as it should be....

Re: Metal-GTX
I installed sforzando, and for me it works. Using wine-6.4 staging.
To get that metal sound, you need virtual amp, like guitarix or something else.

Re: Metal-GTX
I've written instructions on downgrading to Wine Staging 6.4 on both apt and Arch based distros here.

Re: Metal-GTX
Trying to install Wine Staging didn't succeed and broke my Wine installation. I have finally got my old Wine back now, so I'm not going to try Wine Staging again. Maybe there is another solution?
The way to get the picture and GUI of MetalGTX in Sforzando is by opening METAL-GTX.bank.xml in "INSTRUMENT" in Sforzando. See:

Re: Metal-GTX
In Carla the Metal-GTX sfz has no GUI at all, but when you put the Sforzando plugin inside Carla, and a Metal-GTX sfz inside Sforzando then you have sound and part of the GUI's. What is still missing then are the GUI pages "Settings" and "Effects" of Sforzando. But those same two GUI pages "Settings" and "Effects" are also missing in the Sforzando stand-alone version.
