AutoSampler version 3: two new samplers!

Post by jeanette_c »

Hey hey, I have updated AutoSampler to version 3:
http://juliencoder.de/sound/autosampler-3.0.zip
(test on Csound 6.15, may run on Csound 6.14)
There is one variation on the autosampler, which can pause after a given number of notes, so you can retune your instrument. Especially useful for analogue synthesizers with bad keytracking. You can choose a reference tone for tuning by playing notes on a connected keyboard. The reference tone is internal.
The second new addition is DrumSampler, a sampler specifically designed to create sample libraries from your hardware drum machine. You start in exploration mode, where you can tweak your sounds and listen. In record mode you can trigger any sound - as often as you like. You can seamlessly switch between the two modes.
You can also specify up to three MIDI notes as hihat notes. In the SFZ library thiese will be put into a mute group.
The documentation has been updated to make it easier for non Csound users and old hands alike.
If anyone is interested, I have created a library with each sampler: a synth guitar/clav sound with autosampler, a gnarly, analogue synth bass with AutoSamplerRetune and a full set of sounds from my Behringer RD8 (TR-808 clone).
Best wishes and good sampling, Jeanette

Hello Jeanette,

I am new to Linux and searching for autosampler functionality. I stumbled upon this but am unclear how to work with csound. I went to the csound site and downloaded the first package but I see there are many more and am unsure which ones I need. May I ask for some guidance in order to use your autosampler? Thank you!

Hi @Hael.an and welcome to LInux.
I would like to advertise my autoSampler. Since you're new and, I would think, a grapical desktop user, an application like Synthclone might be easier. Synthclone is old and, I think, hasn't seen updates in a while, but last thing I heard it still works.
If you feel adventurous, you can install a csound package from your distro. Every distro should have Csound. For a detailed setup it might be better to work that out in private messages. It depends on a few things. I offered quite a few choices in the autosampler to be as compatible as possible. That wealth of choices can be overwhelming, to newbies as well as to old hands sometiimes. To run the autoSampler though you just need Csound and my package.
Best wishes and don't feel obliged to go with my package,
Jeanette
