Converting a piano from Kontakt to Soundfont
Hi all,
I have found this kontakt steinway piano, which sounds quite good according to the demo, on youtube,
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eZZqDH ... sp=sharing
I make music exclusively with Soundfonts, and i would love to have this piano converted to join my other Sf2 instruments.
I have read that there are software which allow this kind of conversion.
It would be great if someone among you had one of these tools and a little time to spare for that !
Thanks

Re: Converting a piano from Kontakt to Soundfont
Thank you for the tip Shupacabras, but this really is "chinese" to me !
I had hoped someone could do it, for me and for all those who use soundfonts and miss a nice steinway piano.
You can hear how it sounds here,

It is a smaller (lite/demo/custom ?) version (1.2 GO) of the original Galaxy Piano, which size is 5 Go.

Have you checked Salamander Grand Piano? For me it sounds great, and it is free, ready to sfz

Yes i have, thanks, it is good but it doesn't correspond to the music i do, jazz and cinematic, where i need a darker, mellower, "woodier" piano sound, therefore Steinway.
I use one which comes from John Nebauer's site "soundfonts4u", it's ok, but i wish i could use the one i submitted for conversion, which is in an other league !

Re: Converting a piano from Kontakt to Soundfont
https://vst4free.com/plugin/2346/
It's a 609 meg download Yamaha C7 grand piano vst plugin, SoundMagics NeoPiano mini.
It comes as a .dll with the piano as a .ins file, browsed to after pressing the plugins gui Piano button.
I used LinVst to wrap it for use in linux daws.
You'll want to add an eq and reverb, and Surge synth 1.7 and newer now includes a nice multi-effects rack plugin
as part of it's installation, it's EQ and Reverb2 should help dial in a piano sound.
At some point, you'll want to extend your productions to more than one format.
Perhaps better now than 2026.
Cheers
