I think I have to use some treble boost and reverb to get the sound I am looking for. Thx.

That's right. They are very nice in basic, but you need to combine and edit to get the sound you want.
There are several types off harp and each harp you buy sounds slightly different also depending on who's playing. And at the end i think it will be hard as always to get an original sound from a sample. I can play harp and i still can't get the life in the digital as i can get it from a physical one.

Gave my Hohner some light and tried some and got it.
When playing the blues on a fysical blues harp you slide quickly up to five notes meanwhile also bending it with your hands and breath. That's something you never get done like that even on the best keyboard.

May i give you an advice? Buy a real one. Playing it isn't that difficult and lots off fun. You can buy a good one octave single holes one for about twenty dolars and up for better and more extended ones. And what someone can get out off samples a beginner can easily get out of a real one or even more after some minor practice.

I wish you guys would sample your instruments, with various nuances included. Then I can make a dedicated harmonica virtual instrument which would be as realistic and playable as possible. The reason there isn't such a thing is only because I don't have the raw materials (samples) I need.

If Swami would save i would do that myself. :D
Although i wouldn't know how to catch the endless possible nuances.
For basic notes bluebell already has a nice soundfont with eleven different sounds in it, including tremolo and so. But that will never copy the real time bendings which make the loose blues sound. If that was the target i think it is better to adjust that.

And i don't get were you got the "plastic reeds" from. Only toy store harps have that. Even the cheapest china ones have metal reeds (plated copper).
It looks like you hear some difference between the blues diatonic harps with one row holes and the tremelo harps with double row holes.

Admittedly it's been a while, but have you y'all priced a Hohner (wood) blues harp lately?

Possible. You found one of the more expencive.
Look for chromatics. They go up much higher. https://www.amazon.com/Hohner-CX-12-JAZ ... 934&sr=1-5

These are possible too. usd 6.80. https://www.harmonica.com/hohner-bluesb ... -6449.html
You can have a very good Hohner for about usd 20-30.
Or seven for usd 23. :D https://www.harmonica.com/hohner-piedmo ... -7086.html
https://www.harmonica.com/hohner-harmonicas
And for the Fender fans. 11.99 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KZHMZ1K/re ... B0002D00TG

A harp for everyone and each budget.
For blues i can suggest the Hohner Big River. Good quality / price ratio.

One of these days...
That sed and to the point, i doubt any soundfont will get us anywhere close to what we really want.

My doubt to. Simple backing would do but the blues touch will be hard. Wonderfull, parents with a music shop.

Love this man's performance :D

Seems i have another strayed diatonic blues harp soundfont. Never used it myself so i can't tell if it is a good one.
Will send you a personal message and hope this one is good for you.

And keep this in mind.

If everyone here did that, we'd have a massive collection of virtual instruments in LV2 format so that people wouldn't need to hassle with WINE.

I have some self built one-string instruments, and I could sample them, but not actually sure how to do it. If instrument is played with slide, sound on that sliding belongs to character of instrument. And can you use round robins, same note multiple times, so that not every time getting same sample?

(No blues harp, but definitely on same musical genre)

I would like to start with that but Swami doesn't help me. Polyfonic safe to use? See my topic.

But there are plenty good free sf2's available. I have many common and less common instruments to use and create my own sound next to that.
Only would like to create my own sf2's with those.

To bad my harps are tremolo and Bluebell looks for a diatonic.
