Pipe Chimes
Yesterday I sampled them and made a little fledgling SFZ. For being nothing more than a sampling newb with a cheap mic, I'm pleasantly surprised at how quickly it came together and how much I like the sound of it so far:

If anybody is interested, I can share the SFZ here with some kind of CC license once I'm done with it.

Re: Pipe Chimes
Sure, I can share, but what I have right now is extremely simplistic. I only sampled the C5, G5, and D6 chime, at only a few velocities and they're not very consistent velocities at that. Would you mind if I took some time to capture some more thorough samples before sending them to you?j_e_f_f_g wrote:Can i get the raw samples? I'd like to work with them.
Also, my E5, F5, and F#5 chimes are very flat, maybe around 20-30 cents, but I'm assuming that you have means of compensating for that.
EDIT: Also, what rate and depth would you prefer the samples? If I'm going to make another go at it, I may as well accommodate that. I was thinking 48k 24bit

Re: Pipe Chimes
You will see by the file names that I captured C5, E5, G5, B5, and D6. I tried to capture samples suitable for 2xRR and 4 velocity layers, but I'm not sure I got enough for that. I'm fairly certain that there is enough content for at least 2xRR with 3 velocity layers. I'm only aware of it clipping one time that I struck one of the chimes too hard (I think the B), but I sampled another loud note on that one to make up for it.
I think these are actually an octave higher than I have them marked, but I opted to name them this way to make it easier to reach the notes with scoring software and/or smaller midi controllers.
I have to admit that I'm completely new to sampling. If something is amiss please let me know, I can certainly make another go at it.

Re: Pipe Chimes
Awesome! Would you mind if I wrote up a small README and put a CC0 License on this, and then host it somewhere more discoverable?j_e_f_f_g wrote:Here's the finished chimes sfz
