How2get nice accordion sound

Postby 42low » Tue Feb 28, 2017 3:45 pm

For a project to start i needs some accordion sound.

I tried some in LMMS. Tried a lot of samples but nothing sounds 'great'.
In LMMS Got some quite good, but if the tone get's to far from the original sample-tone the sound get's unreal.

Keyboard i have has a accordion setting, but this doesn't sound that real either.

Tried some compete tune samples, but then i get in fight with the bpm's. And there's the copyright problem.

What i'm looking for is an accordion chord, which on like a piano roll i can create some short tunes with. And which sound real.
How do i do this? :?

On Yoshimi I did that with 4 addsynth reed-type voices slightly detuned from each other and with one an octave higher than the rest.

P.S.
OK, I know that's not a sampler

Did you try the 2 accordions in my nbb_organ.zip sfz collection?

There is this one but it is a melodeon/diatonic accordion so you might be missing some basses and chords for the left hand.

I don't understand how to implement these in the program's i normaly use.
Is this for LMMS?

This question is still actual. I'm still looking for a good accordion sample.
I prefer LMMS, but other options with explanation are good for me too.

You need linuxsampler to play sfz files. Carla is a nice front-end for linuxsampler and more.

Afaik, LMMS doesn't support sfz but it supports sf2. Maybe this helps?:

Can find many and tried those mentioned here, but most are quiet low which distorts to unnatural sounds at the higher tones i need.

Ow man, i just need a wav/flac/ogg/mp3 file with a high constant tone/chord accordeon with duration of about 5 sec's or more.
Please help!! Need this one for real. :?

The link I posted had a decent sound, I used it to prototype a composition. I can tweak the samples to get the sound you want if needed

Two tones. One, and one 2 tones/pianowhitebars lower would be even nicer perhaps.
I will send you a PM with an example which direction i want to go.

Ironically, the example you posted is incredibly distorted -- so much so that it doesn't sound like an accordion at all. It sounds like a steam whistle. (Maybe try my calliope sfz). If you want a sound with as much enharmonic overtones as that, you probably should try running an accordion sound through an overdrive effect. Then play a root, minor 2nd, and augmented 4th (C, Db, Gb) simultaneously.

 Spot on my problem. A low tone which has to go up to much, so distorted and accordion anymore. :?
(this sample was just for the note/tone i need)

Can try calliope sfz, but i'm bad with sfz's (how2do??). Exactly why i search for a wav/flac/ogg/mp3.

That's what i will do, but as i need a high tone i need high notes to.

Those who want to help me i can send a better sample by PM.

SFZ files use wav or any other wave format supported. You load them in LinuxSampler and play.

But i don't have/use linuxsampler.
You all seem to have it. You could export some wav/flac/mp3/ogg accordeon with it?

Would apriciate it very much if someone could simply help with the 5+ sec. tone(s) in wav/flac/mp3/ogg format. (High C, Db, Gb perhaps?)

I probably have the right ones. Thanks again barbouze for those.
And after all advices i indeed will gonna try LinuxSampler later.

Thanks you all. Sorry i kept asking, but i need this one for a production i really want to make once.

[edit febr 2018]
Finally, more than a year further i got it sounding right very far. Perhaps some rifining on details, but at least far enough fitting within my wishes.
