updates and improvements

Post by j_e_f_f_g »

Here are several updates/improvements. I've developed a new legato implementation that will give you even more precise control over phrasing.

First up is the flute. The attack was too slow for faster tempos, so I tightened the attack. Then I implemented a new feature where, if you want some notes to play with a slower attack, then hold the soft pedal (MIDI controller 67) while playing those notes. In fact, all of the orchestral instruments will eventually have this feature (along with the new legato technique).

Next is the tenor sax. I extended the lower note range so that the tenor sax can now also be used as a baritone sax. I also implemented the new legato technique, and soft pedal for a slower attack.

I remixed the Pink Panther theme using the new legato technique for the sax, flute, and brass. Spencer, check this out, especially compared to the old mix.

Next is an improved general midi drum kit (heard on the pink panther).

Finally, we have the orchestral cellos. We now have a tremulo articulation. I'm still fine-tuning the solo cello tremulo. The deficiences are more noticeable when only 1 instrument is playing tremulo, versus an ensemble.

Hi Jeff,,

I really liked to play around with new cellos and tenorsax. :D
Super useful and fun.
The flute zip was empty, no problem.
Thanks a lot.
