Pasta bass

Post by j_e_f_f_g »

This electric bass has a pronounced pick attack. This helps cut through a rock mix where you have lots of bass-heavy distorted guitar "power chords".

My version differs from the original source in that mine is stereo, looped, has some noise removed, and includes a "legato mode" mapping.

Here's an update to deepbass, fixing noise on one note, and includes a legato mode mapping.

These are some nice sounding bass samples and I appreciate the legato mappings. I assume they're based of these http://www.karoryfer.com/karoryfer-samp ... /pastabass ?

I'm the anti-Phil-Spector. I do everything in stereo.

But yes, there are a number of bass players who had their instruments modified for stereo, such as Mike Rutherford and Chris Squire.

Oh, ok... well who rather than 2 (admittedly cool) prog bassists from the seventies ... :D. I kinda agree with what ssj71 is inferring, stereo sample libraries emulating monaural analog instruments are a little weird to deal with if you are planning to pan them in the stereo image, I suppose for example in Ardour you can simply create mono panners on your stereo track but if the idea of sampled instruments is to emulate something you don't (or can't) have in your own studio then in my opinion the sample libraries should also correctly reflect whether said instrument is monaural or stereo, second of course to the quality of the actual audio samples this is an important detail in the overall sound IMHO... Just sayin'

I don't like stereo soundfonts. I use balance.lv2 to mix them to mono before I process them further.
