Has anyone came across Zenhiser? Zenhiser made constructed 80s drums from their studio:

Check out some of the classic 80s snare drums:

80s Synthtastic is very cool:

Although I only care for synth bass of the 80s. I don't know what effects are contained in there, but I probably don't need arpeggios and synth chords/hits.
Although I'm not too crazy for spending all that money on drums, I am probably thinking about getting 80s Retro Drummer. I would hope that there are drums that already sound dry so that I can use my own reverb (gated reverb, anyone?). Although the best reverb that I cannot afford right now is http://www.amazon.com/Electronic-M-One- ... everb Unit (gee, only four left in stock?).
So what do you guys think about the demos of the drums and 80's Synthtastic?

Music Interest: New Age w/ a mix of modern smooth jazz, light techno/trance & downtempo -- something Epcot Future World/Tomorrowland-flavored.

Re: Zenhiser: 80s Drums and Synths
Honestly? I think they sound horrible. They're like really bad 80's 12-bit drum machine samples, all with unsubtle gated reverb. If you want something that bad, you can easily find it for free on the internet.
I put a lot of kicks, snares, hihats, toms, and cymbals on http://www.bandshed.net/sounds/sfz . Look at:
