There's a nice video on Cardinal on Youtube. Cardinal is a free and open-source virtual modular synthesizer plugin. It is based on the popular VCV Rack but with a focus on being a fully self-contained plugin version.

It is a good walk through. It surprised me that he used a VCO as an LFO though, certainly nothing wrong with that and it definitely works but there are dedicated LFO modules that offer more features.
I actually follow his channel, a lot of his videos are very helpful but every single time I physically cringe when he says "Howdy doody buckaroonies".
