Obxd LV2 issue

Post by nae »

Hello all

I am using AVLinux 2019 and am having some issues with OBXD. OBXD is installed as VST2 and LV2. Carla only sees the VST2 version and won't identify the LV2 version even though it resides in the USR/lib/lv2 folder. The VST2 version loads up but has no presets available. When I click "Load State" I don't have an option to look for presets. I have removed and re-installed the LV2 version to no avail. Should I just find the latest version and compile? I would like to get the LV2 version of this running. Suggestions?

Thanks

Neal

Not sure about AVL19 but it works here including loading presets in Debian Bullseye under Carla so presumably would in the Bullseye-based current AVL-MXE.
OBXD is installed in /usr/lib/lv2/Obxd.lv2 from KX repo which is where apt put it. Presets need to be added to ~/.lv2
To test,I downloaded some presets linked from viewtopic.php?t=12819
No idea how to save states though.

Hi,

I think you have OB-Xd from the distrho-ports https://github.com/DISTRHO/DISTRHO-Port ... egacy/obxd
It's very outdated in compare of "original" https://github.com/reales/OB-Xd which you can get from DiscoDSP (for free) or compile by yourself. If you need LV2 version a little compile tricks required (or use GeekosDAW where it's available in vst3, vst and lv2 :) )

It is the from the KX Studio repository, but, I suspect that this is correct because I have an even older version of AVL that uses the same version of Obxd. I will try compiling from DiscDSP and see if that will do. I would be fine using the VST2 version except I can't find the magical way to load presets.......

Thanks

No need to compile. Just download the Linux .zip file form https://github.com/reales/OB-Xd/releases/tag/v2.8 and run the install script for the VST2 version. Presets can be loaded from the red Menu button. Resources such as themes and bank presets go in ~/Documents/discoDSP/OB-Xd/
I also tried the VST3 version but the GUI is corrupted on my system so abandoned it. LV2 version didn't seem to be included in the zip file but as the VST2 is working it's not important.
