Hey there. So DS format is supported by sfizz now and just straight up playing works fine, but is there any way to set the release settings with sfizz? I can't seem to find a way. (In DecentSampler the sample libraries come with some controls, usually for release, reverb, RT sound(pianos))
It's great that it supports the format though, since Pianobook has some really really great samples.
This is a question I have general in regards to soundfounts to be fair.
I tried the MIDI sostenuto thing, but it only holds the key down longer it seems, its still a straight dropoff on release instead of a more slow release.
Sorry if I'm explaining the issue terribly

Re: Sfizz with DecentSampler format / MIDI release
The MIDI standard has a midi controller specifically to adjust the release time. It's controller number 72. Whether or not sfiz supports it, I don't know.
Attack time is controller 73.
Reverb volume is 91.
Brightness (filter cutoff) is 75.

Re: Sfizz with DecentSampler format / MIDI release
The only CC I see on there is 7, 10 and 11 (volume, pan and expression). :/
Guess I'll keep using DecentSampler for now. It seems to be in their todo list for the 1.3 milestone when I checked their github just now.
Thanks though!

Re: Sfizz with DecentSampler format / MIDI release
AFAIK,. the sfizz player doesn't assign *any* default semantics to particular CC messages: instead, it allows the author of the specific '*.sfz' file to map them as she wishes. Given that such files are plain text, and that a particular user is willing to modify them, it should be possible to assign whatever CC message you like to control attack / release times, using e.g. the https://sfzformat.com/opcodes/ampeg_attackccN or https://sfzformat.com/opcodes/ampeg_releaseccN opcodes.

Re: Sfizz with DecentSampler format / MIDI release
A bit too much of a workaround to manually edit each .ds / .sfz file every time I want to change release time to be fair, hah.
Especially when for all intents and purposes the DecentSampler plugin does work. I just prefer open source when I can.
But thanks for the suggestion! Learnt something new today too!
