Hi @Aquarious12,

beside GeonKick (which is the best FOSS one IMO) you could try:

Chow Kick - https://chowdsp.com/products.html#kick

Drumsynth (ported to LV2) - https://github.com/DISTRHO/DISTRHO-Ports

Stegosaurus - https://github.com/thunderox/stegosaurus

That said, you can make drum sounds with (almost) every synth out there ... Vitalium, Surge, Odin2 ...

in mix, nobody can hear your screen

VCV Rack now has a VST plugin and you can make all kinds of percussion in that. But like LAM said, almost any synth plugin can be used to create percussion.

I think the VCV Rack Drums module costs $30, if I'm not mistaken, or there is some demo/freeware option? :x

I think it costs that yes but there are loads of free drum plugins. Mutable Instruments Plaits (Macro Oscillator 2), which is free, comes with Kick, Snare, Hat engines and you can easily make percussion from the other noise/percussion algorithms. Other than that though there are lots of drums modules, like the free Hora collection, Vult's Trummor, Befaco's Kickall, Ohmer Modules' QuadPercs, XTRTN's Opabinia, Mutable Instruments Braids and more. And those are percussion specific modules, you can make a ton of percussion sounds with a simple oscillator, some noise, a VCA and an envelope (like you can in most synths).

Many of them are freeware, the only FOSS ones are the Befaco and Mutable Instruments, I guess. One of the reasons I switched to BespokeSynth is to avoid all these "freeware/payware" things. Not having a plugin host and other cool features behind a paywall is another thing. But everybody is free to choose the tree where to hang themselves.

That's fair enough. There are other foss ones around but I'm not at my computer at the moment, I think Ohmer and XTRN are both foss.

How are you doing drums in Bespoke?

And if you want to use VCV as VST you have to pay $99 for Pro version

Bitwig / Surge XT / Linux Studio Plugins / u-he stuff / TAL stuff

They are all FOSS but it is a select number of plugins (the library function isn't implemented). I think it is possible to add more but it didn't seem trivial from the instructions I read.
