I'm not great at git, but here is a very simple 808ish bass I made (from a sine i generated myself just to be safe haha).

One thing does not exclude the other. The problem that I have seen on MA is related to their weak enforcement of copyright. For example, somebody here posted the soundfont from a SNES videogame, Super Mario All-Stars, and released it under CC-BY:

https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/1831

This is legally impossible and exposes MA to a risk of a cease-and-desist letter, at the very least.

OK, there is a simple way to do this without using git commands.

1. fork the repo on Github

2. open the URL of your cloned repo on Github

3. click Add file > Upload files

4. upload your presets

5. share the link to your Github repository here and we will take care of the rest

Thank you!

For this project, we can only accept stuff you made yourself, not anything downloaded from the Internet. This is for legal reasons, since we can't track the copyright holders of those files. So if you could please remove all the files not made by you, it would help us a lot :D

Also, after a discussion (https://github.com/geekosdawproject/lib ... s/issues/2) we settled on the CC0 license. I am personally fine with the GPLv3 (it's my favorite license after the AGPLv3+) and even if you don't want to adopt the CC0, I think we can find a way to include your presets because I am not wholly satisfied with the legal arguments for using the CC0; still, if you could adopt the CC0, perhaps there will be fewer controversies.

Thanks, everything is fine! Actually, many people will already be able to find your presets/wavetables and use them :D As for the licensing, I think I will have to discuss the matter with the other people who are interested into this project. Maybe pass the repo to them, I think I am not the right person to handle this project since I don't even use Vital!

Hi, just wanted to tell everybody that I closed the repo because my commitments did not leave me any time to maintain this project. Also, to tell you the truth I was not convinced about licensing issues and accepting only CC0 was a diplomatic solution which I really did not agree with (why should people renounce to authorship?), so I asked for someone else to step in and maintain the repo before March 7th (deadline for deletion). Nobody did, so I went ahead and deleted it.

My deepest apologies, in particular to @christobal and @Aquarious12 whom already contributed some presets. Your contributions will not be lost - everyone can find them on Github and use them to make beautiful music. Thank you :D

1) Don't see any message where you are asking someone to take this repo?
2) Why to delete, you could let it be, just putting message 'this is unmaintained'. Then anybody could fork it, and continue work. And also collect stuff from other forks of the repo.

There is huge number of projects that have been abandoned, but then continued later by someone else. And specially for project like this, no need to update it for security holes, etc.
