jack-rack replacement

Post by ol2tmx »

Hello guys,
I really loved jack-rack on my Ubuntu since 10 years. Now I recognized, there is no jack-rack available in the current repositories. What do you recommend for a good and efficient replacement? I wanna have some noise reduction filter in conjunction with my SDRplusplus shortwave reception program. Usually there is a lot of noise on the amateur radio bands and want to tr to filter this noise. Any ideas? Rack-Rack was really perfect.

Greeting from Berlin and 73 !

Thank you for the recommendation.
It seems only the KXStudio ist providing Jack2 with Cadence, Carla , Claudia etc. and it has some issues with the DBUS modules. I had to purge the the whole repositories to get a clean Ubuntu afterwards. Or did I lost some information?

Carla is just an application, and Jack2 is not provided by KXStudio, at least on Debian, so I don't know what happened on your system. :?:
If you have problems with KXStudio you can just Install it from a different repo (like ubuntu-studio-backports), or just compile it.

If you would just load some single ladspa plugin :
https://github.com/brummer10/sila
or, for single LV2 plugin:
https://github.com/brummer10/jalv_select
for multi plugin hosting, well, as mentioned above, carla.
On the road again.

Just have similar nightmare two days ago, with a full project rooted over jack-rack.

Finally find a solution:

Download the package from the repo of ubuntu focal fossa:

https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/20.04/ubuntu-un ... 4.deb.html

You might need to install some dependant libraries, now is live and working in a Ubuntu 22 with RT jack-audio 8)

Greetings!
