BTW @Kott,

Do you know of an easy way to search packages in the OBS by distribution type? It didn't seem possible to filter packages in quite that way. It sure would be useful! I'd love to be able to see what Arch or Debian packages (of all types) and how many are available from the OBS.

I'd love to be able to see what Arch or Debian packages (of all types) and how many are available from the OBS.
It's doubtful, imagine if someone will try to search all openSUSE packages

I manage the LinuxMAO (soon renamed to Audinux) on Fedora:

The spec files used to compile and package tools are quite easy to understand.
If you need hints to compile some tools on a distro, you can check out the corresponding spec files. All the spec files are hosted on github:
