Hi, I'm using Carla on top of jack2 to get some voice effects on my microphone. I use 3-4 plugins on a row (noise suppression, reverb, etc) and even though they are dry most of the time (I use OSC to activate them) I notice a significant gain addition when the audio stream pass through them.
Here is an example of me talking with all the plugins connected (set to dry) and then when I connect the input directly to the pulseaudio sink. You can notice a significant drop in gain : https://voca.ro/18W7eRgfr4SZ
I don't know which part of the stack is responsible (jack, calra, the plugins themselves?). The plugins are all dry so it should not be a particular plugin that drives the gain up.

Sounds as if you mix the direct signal and the processed signal together,

Ah thank you very much, it wasn't exactly that but your message made me re-check the connections and I had a stereo signal going into mono that was doubling the gain
