Software mixer for various desktop sources, ALSA only

Post by Fmajor7add9 »

Is there such a thing? Similar to volume sliders in Pulse for various sources (like a browser, youtube client, game, etc.) to adjust them independently

Took a look at https://packages.debian.org/stable/sound but couldn't find alsamixer and alike, ie. master level only for all outputs.

Even if jack was installed and running wouldn't it see all ALSA sources as one stream somehow?

Sorry if trivial, couldn't dig anything out from search terms here.

No ALSA is hardware level. If you bypass pulse, jack or any other sound server and play direct to the alsa device only one app can play audio at a time to the device.
