cannot find certain plugins in KXStudio ppa

Post by paul »

Hello. I cannot seem to find certain plugins in the KXStudio ppa, such as Klangfalter and Vitalium.
Am I doing something wrong? Are they just available on the website?

What version of Debian or Ubuntu are you using with KXStudio?

I see KXStudio versions of Klangfalter and Vitalium when searching apt on my Debian testing system. So they definitely *should* be available through the PPA.

What confuses me, is that apt search also gives me some software that I can't actually find listed on the KXStudio website at all. And some of it very out of date, but due to the way they've numbered it, it's overriding the version packaged by Debian. Ardour 5.12 being a notable example...

20.04.
Update: KlangFalter apparently is installed (I don't know under which package). It can be found by Carla, but not by Ardour.
Vitalium is just not there.

Klangfalter and Vitalium are in DISTHRO-ports.

No, they're definitely individual packages in the PPA. There's individual packages for the LV2 and VST versions as well, and metapackages that depend on both versions. So for the plugins in question, if you want all plugin formats, you would install the packages 'vitalium' and 'klangfalter'. I'm not sure if there are higher level metapackages that install a bunch of these plugins...

I for sure cannot see the individual packages. Nor any "distrho-ports" package.
