Dereverb plugin (LADSPA, LV2 or CLI standalone)?

Post by jeanette_c »

Hey hey,
I've been searching the forum and googling a bit, but didn't find anything like that. Is there a plugin (LADSPA or LV2) or a standalone application with a commandline interface(!) that will do it on Linux? Or perhaps a Csound orchestra/UDO?
best wishes and thanks, Jeanette

I don't know any LV2 plugins but the SPEEX plugin from the alsa-plugins package does a form of dereverb.

I suspect this is part of the encoding/signal "cleanup" to get these superb compression rates. I think speex uses a kind of LPC technique, which would already reduce audible reverb. It could be worth experimenting with that... Thanks for the pointer.

There's also a standalone GTK2 program called Postfish (someone updated the build at https://github.com/ePirat/Postfish), in case someone wants to fork it as an LV2 plugin. It has a batch mode so it should be somewhat usable via the command line and I think in that case, you need to write a configuration file for it. I never tried it myself, though.

I did some searching for programs based on scientific papers and most of them sadly are written in MATLAB (could run on GNU Octave, though). One which seems easy to use and Python-based is https://github.com/yasuraok/icassp2010
