AKAI MPC virtual Emulator

Post by tripomatic »

Hi,

I saw this passing by on a dutch synthforum.

An emulator of the mpc2000.
Haven't played with it yet, but it has also Linux version.
vst2 and standalone version (no id if the standalone supports Jack). It's pretty experimental and tested on Ubuntu 18.04 and arch Linux that author writes.

Gonna play with it coming days i think.

Looks interesting. I can get it running but I can't figure out how to add/assign samples yet. Oh and I think there is a problem with the vst package, it seems to be a mac format.

Hey. I have been fiddling with this one few days now. Figured out how to load samples: they have to be in the mpc-home-folder. Then, you can load them by hitting shift+enter, which takes you to the right menu.
My problem is that it seems to switch bpm-values randomly to absurd values (eg. to 30bpm) and it gets locked there. If someone figures that one out this seriously could get a pretty funny drum-machine

EDIT: jack seems to be supported

Shift+Enter doesn't appear to do anything for me. Is there supposed to be a chooser window open or something?

to clearify that one, I wasn't precise enough, sorry: As it's plain MPC-workflow you have to push the "shift" together with "enter" on the mpc, not the computer-keyboard. On my machine at least "shift" on the keyboard is bind to "shift" on the mpc-gui. Not shure about "enter". Anyway I press "shift" on the keyboard and then that "enter"-button on the gui with the mouse.

this opens a menu where you can load samples from your home-directory.

and no, it's no system-dialog or anything, it's all on the tiny mpc-screen^^

hope it works out now.

EDIT: As all is shown on the tiny mpc-gui, it would be very nice if there was a possibility to zoom
