Interesting indeed.
Though I have to wonder what the purpose would be to make stand alone versions, do they do this on other platforms?

Of course it could just be for discussions sake but I'd hate if there were some misunderstanding about what environment is required to run on Linux.

Well, it's made with JUCE and IIRC the framework compiles standalone apps and plugins in one go.

Slowly? I don't think so. We see a new vendor releasing something for Linux once a month, if not more frequently. This is sort of a growing trend now. Some of them even adopt LV2, which is, for me, a reason to buy their stuff even if I will use it rarely.
