How to install Aeolus?

I am trying to install Aeolus from the repositories on my Linux Mint 19.2 Tina system by means of the Software Manager, but the installation isn't completed and I am repeatedly asked to authenticate the installation. See:

Disclaimer: I have no experience with package managers.

I've tried to download the source code directly from https://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linu ... index.html and also got an error:

After you unpack the source, there is a sub directory "source" which holds the file "Makefile". Add the following line to it:

CPPFLAGS += -I/usr/include/freetype2

This did the trick here. I already had the dependencies installed, but if you need to compile them from source, the same method could be required to build them.

Problem is that after entering my password, the screen asking for my password immediately reappears. It keeps popping up, and the installation is never completed.

Is caps lock on? Or num lock? something like that?

After some more attempts I have succeeded in installing Aeolus. Don't know why.

An important point is that you have to start QjackCtl first before starting Aeolus, otherwise Aeolus will do nothing upon clicking on its icon.

Hopefully I will now also get some sounds out of it....

Could be a (temporary) bug of package manager/distribution. Take another package manager and install with it. Or with the console as root/sudo: "apt install aeolus".
