Hi
I am looking for a software looper.

I tried sooperlooper. It starts, but crashes when I connect a jack Port.

Thanks :D :D

Depending on your needs, Luppp might be a good fit for you:

https://github.com/openAVproductions/openAV-Luppp
http://openavproductions.com/luppp/

Would be happy to get in touch with you on IRC @freenode#openav or on matrix: #openav:matrix.org

I saw your questions on IRC, sadly you already left the channel. Sadly I don't really understand the problem, but would like to help. From the IRC log I already know what you want, please give me some details whats not working as expected.

Please also note, there is a manual where you mind get answers. Any hints how Luppp or the manual can be improved are welcome.

Enjoy!

<EDIT>Guitarix as well as rakarrack also has a looper.

Start the program from the console and post the error message here. </EDIT>

Hi
Answer for sooperlooper:

It starts ok
No error messages.
But when I connect the first jack port
It starts clicking and the keyboard sound gets a delay and clicks.
1600 xrun in a minute.
I stop sooperlooper and the delay and clicks become less.
For good use.
Jack has to be restarted.

Answer for Luppp:

Yeah I saw you on the chat channel. But was already kicked out.
I got it working,
Thanks for the manual.
It is intuitive, and works great.
Just the problem for me is I play live guitar chords.
No preset beat, per minute
So I wanna use a foot controller to stop.
And it can't be bound by that.
Maybe there is workaround.

Thanks all :) :D
Arthur
PS
I still have to check out the gaida soft,
But I am afraid it will also by quantized by preset beats, maybe more suitable for life electronic music.
And guitarix I found the looper but could not figure out how it worked. And I didn't find something in the manual. Will try again.

Yes, there is already a feature request to enable setting the tempo by recording the first Loop: https://github.com/openAVproductions/op ... /issues/65

Sadly there are some things which needs to be changed to make this possible, so this will take a while. But I am working on this :)

Thanks for the effort.
And the whole Luppp.
It off course takes a lot of time to implement.
Yes. It is like I want to kick a foot pedal to start and stop.

Greetings Arthur :D

"Kluppe" is working very well for me:

http://kluppe.klingt.org/

A deb-package for (U)(X)ubuntu 16.04 64bit with jackd2 can be downloaded from my website "www.stockinger.org".

I meant like this:

Code: Select all

linuxmusicians@LAW:~$ slgui
slgui: our URL is osc.udp://LAW.LAW.de:15700/
Changing our url to be : osc.udp://localhost:15700/
execing: 'sooperlooper -q -U osc.udp://localhost:15700/ -p 9951 -l 1 -c 2 -t 40 -m "/home/linuxmusicians/.sooperlooper/default_midi.slb"'

slgui: spawned new engine
slgui: remote looper is at osc.udp://LAW.LAW.de:9951/ version=1.7.3 loopcount=1 id=1556476317
but treating the engine URL as osc.udp://localhost:9951/
Stored settings into /home/linuxmusicians/.sooperlooper

<EDIT>You have the entry in the limits.conf?</EDIT>
