Good to know, thanks!Kott wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 11:22 amDynamic linked. Usually plugins are built with previous long-term distro, Ubuntu 18 for example.ΙnertiaSoundSystems wrote: ↑Thu Sep 17, 2020 10:13 amHmm, do plugins usually link to static versions of GLIB or set a minimum dependancy, ie Ubuntu 20.04 etc?AlbertoZ wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:38 pm Great News ... I'll give a try but it seems that I need to upgrade my system first. My linux Mint 19.3 has GLIBC 2.27:
ldd (Ubuntu GLIBC 2.27-3ubuntu1.2) 2.27
while it seems that Granulizer is linked against 2.29:
carla-discovery::error::/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /home/alberto/.vst/Granulizer 2.so)

We'd like to cater to what is expected if possible

We just released a free preset package for GRANULIZER 2.3. You can download it directly from within the packages section of the plugin (hit the refresh icon above the list).
Of you can read more about it here:

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
I see that Granulizer only works with Bitwig and Reaper. In fact, I tried it with Qtractor, Tracktion and Carla, but all of these gave a "plugin error."
I remember having a similar problem with Virtual Analog and they were able to fix the error quickly.
I wonder if the same can be done with Granulizer?

It works in all mentioned hosts for me, as vst2 and vst3. What did carla-single says when you load plugin?briandc wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 8:04 am I see that Granulizer only works with Bitwig and Reaper. In fact, I tried it with Qtractor, Tracktion and Carla, but all of these gave a "plugin error."

libjack.so.0 loaded successfully!

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
I just was testing it and it loads fine in Reaper and Renoise, but not in Bitwig (3.2.7).
When I start Bitwig from the terminal and load the plugin there are no messages.
Bitwig seems to try to load the plugin, but it doesn't come up:
In Renoise I played a bit with it and it seems to be great, but suddenly there was a crackling and the sound stopped.
I'm on UbuntuStudio 20

Hi Kott,
this is what I get:Code: Select all
carla-single Granulizer\ 2.so ['/usr/lib/carla/carla-bridge-native', 'internal', '(none)', 'Granulizer 2.so', '0'] libjack.so.0 loaded successfully! Plugin failed to load, error was: Invalid internal plugin

You missed the vst argument.
Or even better to execute bridge directly:
Code: Select all
/usr/lib64/carla/carla-bridge-native vst ~/.vst/Granulizer\ 2.so 0

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
Ok, updated my distribution from Linux Mint 19.3 to 20.1. GLIBC issue is now gone (2.31 is now the default).AlbertoZ wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2020 9:38 pm Great News ... I'll give a try but it seems that I need to upgrade my system first. My linux Mint 19.3 has GLIBC 2.27:

Granulizer loads and works fine ... bought .
Anyway few notes:
- the load on the CPU is quite important
- no midi learn?
Thanks to the devs for supporting Linux.

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
Can you please try loading VST3 first and then the VST version? It seems that this resolves the issue.lilith wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 4:55 pm I just was testing it and it loads fine in Reaper and Renoise, but not in Bitwig (3.2.7).

Re: GRANULIZER 2 is going to have linux version
We didn't lock down the parameters in "safe" values because we wanted GRANULIZER 2 to be as open as possible. The knobs will change colour as you enter "dangerous" values that are CPU intensive (which is more clear in the Light theme for now).AlbertoZ wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2020 11:28 amOk, updated my distribution from Linux Mint 19.3 to 20.1. I know it's a drag, but have a quick look at the manual, it will make things much clearer for you. We kept the interface of the plugin as clean as possible, but as you get to know the plugin with the builtin hover for explanations and the manual, everything will become much clearer.
We will be moving everything in the manual into a dynamic online support section (https://www.inertiasoundsystems.com/sup ... tallation/) but it'll take some time to do so.
We are also really glad to be supporting Linux finally, but all new products as we said will be available on Linux on day 1.
Have fun with it, and don't forget to refresh the preset packages section of the plugin to download some awesome new presets.
