Hi,
sf2 is just a sound library container format, whether it's crap or not depends very much on the quality and fidelity of the samples contained inside and whether or not the creators knew what they were doing, there are many good freebies out there and plenty of crappy ones...

That's really impossible to answer.42low wrote:Ok, thanks. Clear there are good and bad ones, just like with samples.
But they can not contain bad script failures or even worst (win-) viruses or whatever? No threats for the stability of my computer?

sf2 files have no executable contents. All they can do is crash a buggy sf2 player.

Image files do not have executable contents yet I had a TIFF file that could crack a PSP by simply opening it in image viewer
