Hi everybody!
As of today, is there a "plugin in a DAW" way to load all those great Guitarix "presets" into a DAW audio track? What I mean by that is instead of loading separate Gx plugins in the track, just load a single "rack" something like a "GxHead" plugin, with a preset menu/load button, that would automatically load the corresponding Gx plugins, all of this without leaving said DAW?
Maybe using Carla?

Don't forget to set the -D option in the carla command line entry, otherwise it wont sound like expected and you might falling faster then you would.xaccrocheur wrote:This is just fantastic ; I'm in heaven now, not sure I'll come down soon.

Re: Gx presets in DAW tracks
Aaah, I though Carla was doing it on its own (as per the thread linked above) thanks for the tip ; And where would be this "carla command line entry" may I ask? I'm guessing I'm going to have to export Guitarix as a plugin again, but where would I specify CLI flags?tramp wrote:Don't forget to set the -D option in the carla command line entry, otherwise it wont sound like expected and you might falling faster then you would.xaccrocheur wrote:This is just fantastic ; I'm in heaven now, not sure I'll come down soon.
EDIT: OK, let's see if I understand correctly, so the procedure would be:
1-Launch carla
2-Click on "Add Jack Application"
3-In "Name" enter "anything"
4-In "Command" enter guitarix -D
5-Export the plugin, load "anything" in a DAW audio track ; Correct?
I just tested it (my, it's LOUD, but manageable) it seems to work... Back to it now

Yes, that should work.xaccrocheur wrote:1-Launch carla

Only you need to copy the exported directory over to ~/.lv2.
It should be as loud as the presets been in the standalone version.xaccrocheur wrote:I just tested it (my, it's LOUD, but manageable) it seems to work... Back to it now
One "check" if guitarix run as single client is, that the title in the window header is then "guitarix" instead "gxhead".
If it is "gxhead", something goes wrong.
On the road again.
