The Synplant synth works well. Pushing the boundaries of the same paradigm.

Some plugins kinda grow on you, over time.
Others never stop growing, and soon you're
over-run by cool presets, and start calling in sick to your
workplace, a few months later, you're homeless,
and trying to dazzle the peeps at the coffee shop
for a cup of hot morning Joe.

Carefull what you wish for

Well, if you go down to it, music grows on you. I personally believe/think that waves are what this universe made of. From the furiously vibrating atom to the extremely slow waves of the space. It should influence the music I make, but, I'm still not making in the "oooom nama shivaya, shivaya nama ooom" style.

OTOH, if you ever wondered where the "Camembert Électrique" name for the u-he Triple Cheese synth patches is coming from ...

And to even make matters worse, Microtonic, also from Sonic Charge, that I mentioned in the SP-MT thread in the Song section comes with an online Patternarium which is driven by a server that generates drum/percussive patterns based on the likes and dislikes of users. When you hear one that you like one can press 'copy' on the website and then press 'paste' in the running Microtonic instance.

Greetings,

Sonic Charge also makes the excellent Cyclone TX16w emulator (the chief designer is the maker of the Typhoon OS, a replacement system for the original Yamaha OS). Cyclone runs very well as an Airwave'd VST, I assume it'll run nicely under linVST as well but I have not tested it.

I checked out Synplant a year or so ago, it ran well under Airwave and did what it's supposed to do. Nice to see other Linux users catching on to it, it's got great potential. Its "organic" sound production method reminds me of u-he's ProtoVerb.

Cool sound software.

Best,

dp
