Same behavior in Carla (empty interface window), Ardour's backtrace has changed since. Here's the debug session:

Emulate VST Bypass Port for Sonarworks Reference 4
The program 'ardour-5.12.0' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 87 error_code 2 request_code 12 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

According to what we've got here, the problem is solely in GUI code. Now seems that all threads except the plugin itself exit normally.

Also FWIW, the new version *continues* to work for me. (The previous version worked, and this new one did not break anything.)

Hello Rudolfs,

I tested it today, but unfortunately it is still not working. I'm a little bit puzzled why it works when calling a script to unset LD_LIBRARY_PATH but not when unsetting LD_LIBRARY_PATH before calling zenity directly...

Jack, I'm on Arch64 too and in Reaper, how does this plugin look? I've tried it in reaper from AUR and I get a gui that's hard to explain. I don't get asked for a key. It looks like the plugin loads but freezes.
Are you using KDE or Plasma?

Ok, another user which was viewing this forum but was not registered actually mailed me that with the latest version the dialog issue is gone, thats nice. Even though this contradicts with the last post form Arnd, lets see if I can sort this out till the end.

Just for completion of information, the dialog problem is still there for me with the last version I tested,
that is the plugin found in the version 4.1.6.7 zip, the md5 sum of the .so being 19003a503b43b59d988de161882d278f.

(and when re-enabling the "zenity trick" the plugin works fine as with the previous version tested (which was 4.1.5.27)

Hi,

Again thanks for all the input from you guys, ok it seems that obviously there are more issues with zenity, I will try to find more time to look at this.

Btw if any of you need new trial keys (your trials run out and you still want to use the plugin), don't hesitate to contact me.

Hi Juki,

I just went through my mails and even checked spam, but did not find a mail. I'll send you one in a PM, and we can verify the mail address there as well.
