[SOLVED] any issues with Arch and EQ10Q?

Post by funkmuscle »

Hey guys, I know that eq10q had issues with Ardour but the latest version worked fine.. At least for me.. Both the AUR or the installer version.
Since Arch has taken a major step backwards when it comes to proaudio as schiv is quite busy and speps I think may of jumped ship to another distro, we haven't been getting upgrades to programs like Qtractor or Ardour or Jalv, Suil, etc. I decided to upgrade to the latest Qtractor and also upgraded jalv, lv2, etc., with the git version.
Well Qtractor still freezes when loading plugins but EQ10Q, Ardour cannot find it.. The blacklist thing seems to only flush out vsts but I still cleared all the cache yet no EQ10Q. I can launch it in Carla and jalv-select but not Ardour.

I've rolled back all programs, rebuild Ardour, and still it doesn't find EQ10Q. The thing is it did work a few minutes before I updated lv2, jalv, etc. Failure happened after.

Ardour's log:

Code: Select all

[ERROR]: Found a reference to a plugin ("http://eq10q.sourceforge.net/eq/eq10qm") that is unknown.
Perhaps it was removed or moved since it was last used.

I have many many plugins that fail to be listed in Ardour and Qtractor. I don't know what's the issue really...

Uhm... I went to preferences > plugins in Ardour and scanned again. Seems now that also ardour sees most of the ones that were missing (need to double check). Did you try that?

Arch looks like it's becoming quite useless for Pro Audio. I would really hate to change for another distro because I've tried almost all of them and this is the one that always keep coming back to.
It's really strange though that just before I did the upgrade everything work. I rolled everything back to how it was and it just wouldn't fine that plugin bundle.

Yes that's what I did and I've also have it setup to scan on launch and still it doesn't fine that bundle.

Using the LTS real time, Ardour 5.6. Remember all these things were working properly 5 minutes before I did the upgrade of those programs. It's been working fine since 5.6 came out and it was working fine with 5.5 and earlier versions.

solved it!!! looked at the terminal info after launching and found the issue was is:

Code: Select all

/usr/lib/ardour5/lv2
deleted the lv2 from there, relaunched A5 and back in business. :D
