Is anyone familiar enough with the non-mixer spatialization plugin to give step-by-step instructions for setting it up? The non-mixer manual's section on spatialization (
http://non.tuxfamily.org/mixer/doc/MANUAL.html) is somewhat abstruse, and the screenshot of the JACK connections (a Carla window?) maddeningly doesn't show where the inputs are coming from, nor identify the actual plugin that is is used for the mysterious "Ambdec", nor show precisely where the outputs are going, all of which are necessary for me to make sense of the text.
I want to set up a full symphony orchestra for use with MuseScore, so, using the flutes as an example, the start of my signal chain is:
- MuseScore midi_out_1 => midi splitter (Carla plugin)
- midi splitter out_1 => sf2 flute soundfont (Carla plugin)
- sf2 flute soundfont outs 1 & 2 => non-mixer strip labeled "Flutes" to which the spatialization module has been added
From here, I'm lost. What do I have to do (precisely, please!) so that I can move the flute section left-right/forward-back using the little "Flutes" dot that appears in the spatialization console? I have jconvolver, which the non-mixer manual recommends, and can use that (however it's done), though I'd prefer to discover that zita-rev1 in ambisonic mode could be used instead. One way or the other, trail and error have left me feeling like I've dived down the rabbit hole.
If it isn't obvious, I need instructions specific to Carla and NSM. Thanks.
