Carla Instrument Pack (72 files)

Just wanted to let you know that a few days ago the amazing Cris Owl Alvarez has released a pack filled with Carla instruments. Here they are: https://musical-artifacts.com/artifacts/177

They're done with some synths (Calf Monosynth, xsynth, whysynth, ...) and some lv2 plugins. I tested most of them and there's some nasty EDM sounds there, some pads and some assorted videogame like SFX.

What issues does that cause?
Having carla load projects from different systems is a very important target to me.

Carla simply does nothing, doesn't load the project or say that it can't. Running carla in a terminal and trying to open one of these presets gives this:

Failed to load a plugin, error was:
/usr/lib/vst/carla.vst/CarlaRack.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

If I change the path in the preset I can load it.

Yeah it's not a big deal at all and easy to work around.

Hmm... I suppose the :

<Binary>/usr/lib/vst/carla.vst/CarlaPatchbay.so</Binary>

part is to blame.

I didn't create the instruments so I don't know if Carla has a good reason for using the binary instead of something relative to VST_PATH. If there's a better way of handling this when creating the instruments I can take note for future reference and maybe also correct the files in this pack.

I've tried these presets. I figured out that the Helm presets need to be installed in ~/.helm/patches/Cris\ Owl\ Alvarez/
I see that the presets are available in a pull down menu on the carla rack for Helm, or from within the Helm GUI which is nice.
The carla presets are just .carxp files and can be put anywhere as far as I can tell. I do not see that Carla has a system for organizing presets, so you just load the .carxp files with File->Open.
The OBXD presets I can't figure out what to do with or how to load them, anyone know?
