Hi Baggypants!
Thanks for your suggestion. I know about Bristol but I am such a devout anti-JACK/non session kinda guy I prefer sampling DM over using Bristol via JACK. SID geeks seem to rate DM much more highly than Bristol. DM emulates two versions of the SID.
DM's author hasn't replyed to my request for DM plugins yet but at least one other person has also expressed their interest in DM in plugin form.
The DM author has stated he will open source it if he can no longer maintain it as donationware.

Eh indeed!
Where do you download it? Does it have a Linux VST or LV2 version?
If its not a Linux plugin, I'll be using Deflemask until some Linux native chiptune plugins arrive.

What about Chip32?

Tried it and it seems to work fine! I ran it in Carla and there's no native GUI so you have to use Carla's interface. But all seems to be a go!

Famitracker (GPL) has excellent sound emulation. Is it possible to do a plug-in on its base?

Sounds familiar, most of the chip emulations have a hard-coded sample rate. As the original chip ran at that fixed rate.falkTX wrote:sometimes the sample rate is hard coded too
It's usually non-trivial to change. Adding a resampler probably keeps the original spirit of the sound best.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned bsutherland's JuceOPLVST here: https://github.com/bsutherland/JuceOPLVSTi/releases http://bsutherland.github.io/JuceOPLVSTi/

since this thread was started remid.lv2 (a SID chip plugin) was released. I didn't want to drag up old threads, but since its active, I'm mentioning it.
