DP kindly sent me this screenshot of the new Dexed build.
I've not got to try it myself yet but Dave says performance has improved since the last release, at least under BWS.
Thanks Dave!

So it got a new skin? Looks really nice. I was playing with Dexed just the other day and found it frustrating because I had no idea what all the unlabelled dials did.

It just has nice shading and all that. Compared to the old one:

Makes me wonder if I should stick to the DSP. :\

Re: Dexed updated
When it will be out?
Re: Dexed updated
But can i try it?

Re: Dexed updated
it's drop dead gorgeous.
btw
Still have a book somewhere about FM synthesis : "FM Synthese in de praktijk" (practical FM synthesis).
It's in dutch and very technical. It shows you what kind of wave form you get when modulating the sine waves , etc etc.
If people are interested I can post some stuff from it in the forum.

Re: Dexed updated
It seems Dexed cannot load single sounds like Hexter can. That would be needed so make Dexed a modern replacement for Hexter.

I do know this one, which seems to be a companion manual for the DX7: http://synthzone.com/midi/yamaha/dx7/fm ... ations.pdf It covers FM theory but is very much DX7 programming focused, but that may be exactly what people here are looking for.
