Nekobi glide/slide notes?

Post by tripomatic »

Hi

Is it possible to glide/slide notes in Nekobi?
If i want to glide notes on my xoxbox, i let notes overlap each other in a daw,
but these doesn't seem to work so maybe there another possibility?

That should work as Nekobi does portamento by default assuming that's what you mean by glide/slide. Which DAW are you using?

By pressing 1 note first, waiting a little then pressing another.

portamento is not the same as this, right?
Portamento (plural: portamenti, a noun meaning literally "carriage" or "carrying") is a musical term that describes pitch sliding from one note to another.

I use ardour3 or bitwig to play around. Both give me same result.
It's just like i hear the 2nd note attacking instead of slide from the first to the second.

If i find enough time today at home i'll switch on the xox and make a comparison of slides.
Could be that i was expectiing little different output but maybe i'm wrong.

I assume you want it to sound like this?

The bassline is made with Nekobi. I've used seq24 to sequence the notes and achieved the glides simply by having notes overlap each other. It's really weird that you hear the attack of the second note, Nekobi should glide to it by default. It's even in its name, Nekobi, bi as in bee as it is supposed to buzz like a bee.

Does nekobi do midilearn? or is there some way to get its knobs to work with my midi keyboard knobs? it makes some wonderful rackets with seq24 :-)

some synths use mono or legato mode to enable the portamento gliding without an attack.
Cheers
