more VST bridge software

Post by StudioDave »

Greetings,

Two projects designed for supporting Windows VST/VSTi plugins in a Linux/Wine environment :

Abique's VST-bridge (reported here earlier) :

https://github.com/abique/vst-bridge

And phantom-one's new airwave :

http://darkhub.net/phant0m/airwave

I'm using both to create usable plugins for Bitwig, so far they're working nicely with the usual freeware examples, e.g. Crystal, SQ8L, P8 Superwave, various fx, et cetera. Abique's vst-bridge has some issues with GUI display, but it might be the fault of my Wine version (1.7.19).

Best,

dp

Hi dp,
I too had problems with the gui for the vst-bridge. Is there any way you know to fix that?

Hi dp,
getting back to Airwave... how do I get it? It asks me to log in, but I can't see how to even register!

Also, is "fsthost" the same as vst-bridge? Because fsthost runs VSTi's on my PC very nicely, with no GUI problems. (iirc, vst-bridge had problems with the GUI overrunning the screenborders)

Hoping to hear back,
brian

This fsthost ?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/fsthost/

It appears to be a separate project from abique's vst-bridge.

Thanks, I'll give these a try.

That's the one. Works very well indeed. Audacity doesn't hook to it well, but I just add an effects plugin (ie equalizer) as the go-between and all works fine.

Ciao!
