calf eq

Post by artek »

I wanted to use calf equalizer surgically but although it offers very high q, I'm unable to precisely set frequency of filter,
it skips by tens of cycles, am I missing something?

Isn't there a modifier key (shift, alt, control) that allows it to go finer? I'm not at my machine at the moment but I seem to remember one of the keys doing that.

As sysrqer says, you can use a modifier while moving the knob. In its native interface it's "shift", if you use the generic interface (or the LADSPA version) it's "ctrl". In the generic interface you can also type the number.
In Ardour you can use the generic interface by selecting it from the context menu (right click on the plugin -> "Edit with generic controls..."); you can probably do the same in other softwares.
Another method could be using the automation to set the parameter, you could also do a slow automated sweep, see which is the value when it sounds right, then set it for the whole piece.

You can also middle-click to set values manually (in the gui).

You can use the generic interface with the LV2 version too.
