Audiodamage other desert cities goes Blacklist
I tried the plugin (demo version) in Mixbus 32C with the latest version. Seems to go blacklisted. AvLinux MXE latest. What could be wrong?

Re: Audiodamage other desert cities goes Blacklist
You can get bit better idea why it is failing with something like this:
Code: Select all
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/Mixbus-6.2.70/lib/ /opt/Mixbus-6.2.70/lib/ardour-vst-scanner path/to/vst.so

Re: Audiodamage other desert cities goes Blacklist
you can get the output by running
Code: Select all
carla-single vst "/path/to/Other Desert Cities.so"
Code: Select all
ldd "/path/to/Other Desert Cities.so"

it requires distro with more recent glibc./Other Desert Cities.so: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by ./Other Desert Cities.so)

Re: Audiodamage other desert cities goes Blacklist
I run a system with a newer glibc, a system where Other Desert Cities actually loads.
And I can use it in Qtractor, Carla and Reaper (those are the ones I tested), but Mixbus32C crashes a soon as I load the plugin (well, the demo).
The message I'm getting is:
Strange thing, though: The first time I tried, it ran just fine.
But after that one time, the whole session crashes whenever Other Desert Cities' GUI is about to load.
This is the VST3, it seems the VST2 is blacklisted (at least I can't make it show up in plugin manager).
So yes, maybe the next AVLinux will be able to run it.
However, that doesn't mean you're guaranteed to have it running in Mixbus32C.
Unfortunately.
It's an extraordinary plugin that I'd love to use in my daily work (which happens in MB32C).

Mixbus has its own list of libraries, and it does not do plugin sandboxing, which often means plugins that aren't statically compiled may crash.thebutant wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 10:13 am I run a system with a newer glibc, a system where Other Desert Cities actually loads.

To use such plugin, use carla plugin to load it. Carla does plugin sandboxing.

Regarding old distros, they said this in the changelog from yesterday's 1.0.9 update:

Thank you for the information. I bought it because there is still a discount. I just have to trust that things will start to work with the updates.

I've nothing to add to this topic, just wanted to thank you for that answer. I learned something important from it. Same for @robbert-vdh.tavasti wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 10:43 am Mixbus has its own list of libraries, and it does not do plugin sandboxing, which often means plugins that aren't statically compiled may crash.

Re: Audiodamage other desert cities goes Blacklist
Also for those who try in Mx linux 19.4 it will not work. It works on Mx linux 21 Beta.
